Alumni Chapter's annual gift drive for children is under way

10/25/2010 —

The Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is conducting its annual Gift Drive for Beaver County Children and Youth Services (CYS). The gifts will be distributed to children who are CYS clients.

Participants will be provided with the first name, age, and gift preferences of a child or children, purchase and wrap the gift(s), and drop them off to the Alumni Chapter. In addition, participants have the option of making a monetary contribution to the Alumni Chapter whose members will, in turn, purchase and wrap gifts for the children.

Donors must attach a separate gift tag to each gift. Each tag must contain the child’s name, caseworker number, and a brief description of the enclosed gift and must be taped to the gift. The Alumni Chapter requests that each gift have a value of $25 to $30.

Monetary donations can be made in cash or via check made payable to Beaver Valley Area Chapter PSAA and mailed to Office of Campus and Community Relations, Penn State Beaver, 100 University Drive, Monaca, PA 15061.

Gifts drop-off will be 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the Festival of Trees celebration in the Lodge of Brady’s Run Park, Beaver Falls. The Alumni Chapter will host a private reception with refreshments and music for all those who are delivering gifts. Also, participants are asked to bring a non-perishable item for the Alumni Chapter’s annual Holiday Food Drive.

Participants who cannot deliver their gifts on Nov. 30 can drop them off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Lodge of the Beaver campus Student Union Building.
