Free Concert Series Continues at Brodhead Cultural Center
The Swingin’ Beaver Bopcats will perform Tuesday, Aug. 10, and the Joe Grkman Polka Band will be in concert Tuesday, August 17. Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Cultural Center’s J.P. Giusti Amphitheater. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will move into the auditorium of the Beaver campus Student Union Building.
This summer’s Brodhead Cultural Center corporate partner is Clearview Federal Credit Union. Cosponsors are The Times, ARA Corporation, The Idea Works, and Beaver Valley Musicians Union Local 82-545.
On Tuesday, Aug. 17, the Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will sell cups and cones of Penn State Creamery ice cream from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater. On both evenings, the Chapter will sell hot and cold refreshments prior to and during the concert. Sale proceeds benefit the Alumni Chapter’s scholarships for Beaver campus students.
Beginning at 6:30 p. m., the Mill Creek Valley Historical Association will staff and host free tours of the Baker-Dungan Museum located on the hill overlooking the J. P. Giusti Amphitheater. The museum, which is open to the public, contains a variety of local historical artifacts, tools, furniture, clothing, art, and other displays. This year’s theme at the museum is the Beaver County Hookstown Fair.
