Beaver Valley Area Penn State Alumni Chapter receives service award
The Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is the recipient of the Penn State Alumni Association’s Outstanding Service Project Award, which is given annually by the Alumni Association’s Alumni Council Awards Committee. The chapter was recognized for its annual holiday gift drive for Beaver County Children and Youth Services (CYS), which provided gifts for 125 children last December. The announcement was made by Michael Boser, president of the Beaver Valley Area Chapter Board of Directors, at the group’s meeting on June 16.
The Holiday Gift Drive, which has received Alumni Association awards in the past, has been conducted by the Beaver Valley Area Alumni Chapter for more than twenty years. The Alumni Chapter contacts individuals and groups who will purchase gifts for children who are CYS clients and also collects cash donations which chapter members use to purchase gifts for the children.
Boser is a recovery analyst for Coventry Health Care. Other Board of Directors officers are Keith Poleti, assistant vice president/financial services manager for ESB Bank; David Smarrelli, financial advisor for GuyauxMandlerMah Financial Group LLC; and Diane McClune, director of operations for the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health.
The public is invited to join the Beaver Valley Area Alumni Chapter; members do not need to have any affiliation with Penn State. Annual dues are $10 for an individual and $15 for a couple or family.
