Beaver campus will host state representatives debate
Penn State Beaver will be the host sponsor and Clearview Federal Credit Union will be the event sponsor for the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce State Representatives Candidates Debate at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, in the auditorium of the Beaver campus Student Union Building. Participants will be candidates running for state representative positions in Districts 10, 14, 15 and 46.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m. The debate will conclude at 8:30 p.m.
Welcome and opening remarks will be offered by Penn State Beaver Chancellor Gary B. Keefer. Remarks and introduction of the moderator will be made by Brad Morrow, business development officer for Clearview Federal Credit Union. Debate moderator is Robert Colalella, Beaver County Chamber of Commerce chairman of the board and vice president of marketing for ESB Bank.
Three media panelists will question the candidates and Colalella will use the remaining time to read questions from the audience. Media panelists are Patrick O’Shea from the Beaver County Times; Al Dworakowski, chair of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee and community relations director for PGT Trucking, and Karl Chapple, owner of Minuteman Press, Beaver Falls.
The event will be broadcast live on WBVP/WMBA, will be videotaped by Rubino Productions, and will be accessible on the Chamber’s Web site following the debate. No candidate or member of the public will be permitted to use cameras or video cameras during the debate program.
