Bats are topic of final presentation in Faculty Speakers Series
The Penn State Beaver Spring Semester Faculty Speakers Series will conclude at noon on Wednesday, April 14, with a program by Cassandra Miller-Butterworth, assistant professor of biology, who will present "Illuminating the Darkness: The Upside Down World of Bat Research."
Miller-Butterworth holds doctoral and bachelor's degrees in zoology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and has conducted post-doctoral research in the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity at Maryland's National Cancer Institute as well as in the Department of Human Genetics in the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health.
Peter Deutsch, associate professor of physics, coordinated the 2009 Fall Semester Faculty Speakers Series and the 2010 Spring Semester Faculty Speakers Series. Deutsch holds a doctoral and a master’s degree in physics from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Michigan.
