Lady Lions hold top spot in PSUAC

On Thursday, April 23 the Penn State Beaver Lady Lions hosted and defeated the Penn College Wildcats of Williamsport, 6-0 and 6-1.

In game one, sophomore starting pitcher Kayla Chambers (South Side High School, Hookstown, PA) pitched seven innings, allowing only two hits, two walks, and striking out four.  In the sixth inning, Jamie Karpinski (Quigley Catholic High School, Beaver, PA) capped Beaver’s offense by hitting a two-run homerun, her second of the season, for the win.

In game two, Chambers threw another complete game, again allowing just two hits, one walk, striking out three, and giving up zero earned runs.

The Lady Lions are in first place in the PSUAC at 11-1 and 17-16 overall. On Saturday, April 25 Beaver will travel to Penn State Abington for a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m.
