Sale of Campus Apparel, Gourmet Food Benefits United Way
The 2008 Penn State Beaver United Way Committee is sponsoring sales and special events to raise funds for the Beaver County United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Sales and events are open to the public. All sales proceeds benefit the United Way which is designated as the University’s official and only charity.
The clothing sale features adult, youth, and toddler hoodies and sweatshirts; golf shirts, pigment-dyed crews and ball caps, stadium blankets, tote bags, men’s and women’s golf shirts and more. The Penn State Beaver logo is featured on all items. Sale ends Monday, Oct. 20. In addition, Joe Corbi’s gourmet food will be sold and includes gourmet pizza, cookie dough, cinnamon rolls, chee-zee bread, cinna-bread, pretzels, calzones, pumpkin rolls, cinnamon twists, pies and cheesecakes.
On Monday, Oct. 20, the United Way Committee will host its Annual Luncheon and Theme Basket Auction. Donation for the event is $5. Auction tickets for the basket will be sold at lunch with winners to be announced immediately following.
Committee co-chair Alvetro is the program aide in the Office of Continuing Education and Turyan is the staff assistant in the Office of Student Affairs. Other committee members are Darlene Mancini, staff assistant, Office of Housing and Food Services; Renata Mastrofrancesco, staff assistant, Offices of the Chancellor, Campus and Community Relations, and the Brodhead Cultural Center; Carol Pistachio, library assistant; Jennie Ward, staff assistant, Office of the Registrar, and Christina Winniewicz, external relations assistant, Office of Development.
