Loss in Florida Closes Tough Week for Lady Lions

The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions softball team ended its spring break trip to Florida with a 13-5 loss to Marywood University and a record of 1-6 after taking on some very difficult competition all week.

Beaver junior pitcher Sam Neely (Northgate High School) gave up six hits, walked two, struck out five, and gave up no earned runs. Juniors Taylor Rzeczkowski (Highlands High School) and Melissa Swoager (South Side High School) each had two hits. Rzeczkowski also had a double and two RBIs while sophomore Jamie Clouse (Laurel High School) had a two-run triple.

The Lady Lions will host their first home game of the season when they go up against Geneva College in a doubleheader, 3 p.m., Thursday, March 20.
