Admissions will Host Two Free Events

On Saturday, March 29 the Penn State Beaver Admissions Office will host an Offered Student Brunch and an Open House for students who have been accepted at the campus and those who are interested in attending Penn State, respectively. Both events will be held in the Student Union Building.

The Offered Student Brunch will provide students who have been accepted to Beaver campus with an opportunity to meet with faculty, staff and students over brunch in order to learn more about the steps a student must take between the offer of admission and the first day of class. Advance registration for the program is required. The event’s schedule is as follows:

9 a.m. - Registration
9:30 a.m. - Welcome from Chancellor Gary Keefer
9:45 a.m. - Academic meetings with faculty
10:30 a.m. - Information program
11 a.m. - Brunch in the Brodhead Bistro
11:45 a.m. - Campus tours
12:30 p.m. – All guests enjoy free Penn State Creamery ice cream

The Open House will begin at 9 a.m. and will provide prospective students and their families with an opportunity to explore all that Penn State offers. Participants will learn the value of a Penn State degree in today’s economy and society.

The event will include a welcome from Chancellor Keefer, a presentation titled "Why Penn State is Right for You," information about how to apply to Penn State, meetings with faculty and current students, and a campus tour. Participants also will be able to sit in on a college class of their choice in many subject areas, including business, engineering, philosophy, information sciences and technology, and chemistry.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast and an opportunity to network with participants. The program begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and advance registration is requested. To register for either event, contact the Admissions Office at 1 (877) JOIN-PSU, via email at br-admissions@psu.edu, or on AOL Instant Messenger, screen name BRAdmissions.
