Beaver Men Suffer Seventh Consecutive Loss
On Monday, Feb. 18, the Penn State Beaver men's basketball team traveled to Franciscan University where it suffered its seventh consecutive loss when it was defeated by its host in a nonconference game, 77-75. The loss followed Beaver's 71-68 defeat by host Penn State DuBois on Saturday, Feb.16.
In Saturday's game, Beaver sophomore Zac Fetchin (Aliquippa/Hopewell High School) scored a team high of 17 points. Sophomore guard Tim Kubis (Aliquippa/ Hopewell High School) added 13 points while junior Matt Franetti (Beaver Falls/ Blackhawk High School) chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds. On Monday sophomore Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School) led Beaver with 24 points and nine rebounds. Other double-digit scorers for the Lions included sophomore Tim Kubis (Hopewell High School) with 16 points, freshman Billy Stoughton (Slippery Rock High School) with 13, and Franitti with 12 points. Kubis also contributed with six assists.
The Beaver Lions, now 6-19 overall and 6-10 in the PSUAC, play their final season game when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23.
