Beaver Men's Losing Streak Now at Five
The Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions men's basketball team traveled to Penn State Brandywine on Saturday hoping to break their losing streak, but were defeated in a close game, 73-71.
Beaver has lost their last four consecutive conference games, three of which went into overtime, and on Saturday, Beaver quickly realized another victory would be difficult.
The game was a nail-biter all the way through as both teams continuously took the lead away from each other. For every bucket Brandywine made, Beaver answered with a basket of their own. As time ticked off the clock, however, Brandywine was able to inch its way in front of Beaver before the buzzer sounded. Beaver's losing streak extended to five when they fell to Brandywine, 73-71.
Beaver was led by sophomore Zack Fetchin (Hopewell High School) with 20 points and junior Matt Franitti (Blackhawk High School) with 16 points. Sophomore Tim Kubis (Hopewell High School) added an additional 12.
Beaver is now 6-17 overall and 6-9 in the conference. The Lions travel to take on conference rival Penn State DuBois on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m.
