Undergraduate Research Fair will be held April 6

Penn State Beaver will host its 10th annual Undergraduate Research Fair,
beginning at noon on Wednesday, April 6, in the Student Union Building. The
event, which is designed to highlight student scholarship and research
conducted on campus, showcases student presentations of in-depth, original,
scholarly work and research. Projects from all academic disciplines are
welcome, including business, humanities, liberal arts, social sciences,
physical sciences, mathematics and computer science. The abstract and
registration form must be approved and submitted by the faculty member serving
as the student's research adviser. Registrations must be submitted by 4 p.m.
on March 18.

Beaver freshmen will dance in upcoming THON

Penn State Beaver freshmen Jesse Bonincontro and Omosalewa Akintilom were
selected to represent the Beaver campus by dancing in the two-day Penn State
IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) that will be held from Friday, Feb. 18
through Sunday, Feb. 20, at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's University
Park campus. Bonincontro is a Division of Undergraduate Studies major from
Oakdale, Pa., and Akintilom, a liberal arts major, is from Ellicott City, Md.

Beaver student honored again by USCAA

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) has honored Penn
State Beaver senior point guard Jasmine Green with the Co-Women's Basketball
Player of the Week Award. Last week she was chosen as the USCAA Women's
Basketball Honorable Mention Player of the Week.

Students, faculty, staff, parents, and the general community are invited to
register for PSUTXT, a free service designed to alert the Penn State community

Penn State Beaver alumni, friends, and fans now have the option to follow the
Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association on Facebook at

join the alumni chapter. Membership fees are $10 per individual and $15 per

Beaver Theatre will present annual spring children's play

Penn State Beaver Theatre will continue a longstanding tradition by hosting
its annual children's play in March and April. This year's play is "Jack's Big
Adventure," which tells the story of an insecure boy who is bullied, falls
asleep, and awakens in Mother Goose Land to learn that he can stand up for
himself while helping a bully to make friends.

Admissions Office will hold application workshop Feb. 21

The Penn State Beaver Admissions Office will host a free Presidents Day
Application Workshop from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the Admissions
Office, located in the campus' Student Union Building.

SGA blood drive will benefit THON efforts

The Penn State Beaver Student Government Association will sponsor a blood
drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on
Thursday, Feb. 17, in the Student Union Building Lodge. In addition, the
American Red Cross will donate $4 to the Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) for
every presenting donor at the campus. These funds will be used to provide
support for pediatric cancer patients and their families through The Four
Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
