My name is Roger Garza. I'm originally from San Isidro, Texas, and I currently live in Beaver, Pennsylvania. For four years I was a Korean cryptologic linguist for the U.S. Air Force. The transition from the Air Force to college was actually pretty easy. In the Air Force we had to do a lot of training and a lot of studying. I went to a tech school that was almost two years long, so I was well into the habit of studying every night and taking long tests. People in the military are at a great advantage because of the G.I. Bill. If you're not going while you're in the military, get ready so you can go after you get out because there's a world of opportunity out there and college is a great time. When I moved to Pennsylvania I looked at several schools. I picked Penn State Beaver because it had the big name of Penn State that I want attached to my degree along with the smaller-size classrooms. Personally, I learn a lot better in a classroom of 20 people as opposed to 200. Well, I've always been interested in technology, and when I was looking at Penn State Beaver's website I was reading all about their IST program, and it seemed like a really good program. I get to go to school with my wife. We get to go to classes together and study together and have lunch together. We just have such a good time here.
