Program objectives for students: 

  • Begin to read, view, think, discuss, and write critically
  • Become familiar with materials and perspectives across content areas and from the liberal arts tradition
  • Incorporate source material into writing
  • Become familiar with appropriate citation methods in written work and create a reference or works-cited page
  • Demonstrate the principles of lifelong learning
  • Present an independent, creative learning project
  • Practice principles of time management
  • Build a compilation, i.e. lexicon, of discipline-appropriate terms

Week 3: The Second "R": Why Writing is Fundamental, Too

Week 4: Finding the Path to Math

Week 5: Excelling with the Basics of MS Excel

Week 6: The Liberal Arts

Week 7: The Sciences

Week 8: The Social Sciences
