MSHA 8-Hour Annual Training for Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners

This one-day program covers all aspects of the annual training requirements for owners, operators, and contractors under 30 CFR Part 46 or Part 48. Those who successfully complete this course will return to the job with the skills necessary to perform their work in accordance with MSHA regulations.

Upon completion, students will receive a 5000-23 Annual Refresher Training Certificate for Part 48 Training or a generic certificate for Part 46 Training. Before the certificate is signed, training must be given at the mine site to cover changes at the mine site, and the time spent will depend on the training plan.

Please note: this requirement is only for employees of the mine operator. These certificates will expire one year after completion.

Preregistration is required. Saturday training classes may be scheduled upon request if an instructor is available.

Course fee is $130 per person.

This course can also be offered on site. Please contact the Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education  at 724-773-3700 to discuss your scheduling needs and group rates.
