MSHA 24-Hour Training for New Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners
This three-day program covers all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners, operators, and contractors under 30 CFR Part 46 or Part 48. The objective of this three-day course is to train new and/or inexperienced miners about the safety and health hazards in the surface metal/non-metal industry.
Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job-related safety procedures, rescue, and first aid techniques. This course satisfies the total MSHA requirement for new and/or inexperienced miner training. Upon completion, students will receive a 5000-23 annual refresher training certificate for Part 48 Training or a generic certificate for Part 46 Training. These certificates will expire one year after completion. Site specific training or hazard training is needed at the mine site before beginning work assignments. Pre-registration is required for this course.
