College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The Office of Continuing Education offers testing for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP).
Administered by the College Board, CLEP provides college credit for examinations that test college-level knowledge in specific disciplines. It is a nationally recognized series of examinations that allows the student to demonstrate knowledge acquired in a non-college setting.

Important Information about Penn State Beaver CLEP Testing
On the day of the exam, please bring the following items with you:
- Photo ID
- Completed application form
- Two checks - one for each test taken:
- $80 (check or money order only) payable to CLEP.
- $25 (check, cash, or money order) payable to Penn State.
- $10 additional fee for optional essay
The test center code for Penn State Beaver is 3668.
A re-test may be taken after a mandatory six-month waiting period.
You will receive the results of your exam(s) immediately after completing the exam.

Important Information for Veterans
As a result of the Veterans Benefits Improvement Act of 2004, veterans can now receive reimbursement for CLEP fees from the Veterans Administration (VA).
To take advantage of this benefit,veterans must pay for their CLEP examination and administration fee at the time of testing. They may seek reimbursement for all fees from the VA after they have taken the exam.
